Mud River Lake

Location: Lincoln County, approximately 12 miles south of Hamlin on county Route 7 (Upper Mud River Road).
Size: 1,425 acres
Terrain: steep and 90 percent is covered by oak-hickory forest
Hunting Prospects: deer, grouse, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, turkey, waterfowl
Lake: 306 acres - boat motors limited to 10 hp
Two boat ramps
Game Fish: largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, muskellunge
Accommodations and Facilities
Swimming beach, picnic areas, playgrounds, softball field, bath house, restrooms
Camping is not permitted.

Water Ways

 Water Ways features two giant downhill water slides; a relaxing lazy river; a Jr. Olympic sized pool; two kiddy pools with waterfall, swings and slides; 18 hole miniature golf; go kart race track; and picnic shelters to accommodate 250 people with grill and bathroom facilities.

The Coal River “Wahonde” Water Trail is an 88 mile long designated river trail for paddlers.  The trail covers nearly the entire length of the Big, Little, and main Coal Rivers, and features around 17 Dept. of Natural Resources boat launches for accessing the rivers.
